Description
Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 80/8 of 20 November 2025, in which the Assembly urged Member States to observe the Olympic Truce individually and collectively, within the framework of the Charter of the United Nations, throughout the period from the seventh day before the start of the Games of the XXV Olympic Winter Games until the seventh day following the end of the XIV Paralympic Winter Games, to be held in Milano-Cortina in 2026, the President of the General Assembly, Annalena Baerbock will make a solemn appeal in connection to the observance of the Olympic Truce during this formal plenary meeting of the General Assembly.
