The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is organizing an informal, interactive multi-stakeholder hearing in preparation for the 70th session of the Commission, in line with Economic and Social Council resolution E/RES/2026/2 on the revitalization of the CSW.

Description

In line with Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) resolution E/RES/2026/2 on the revitalization of the Commission on the Status of Women, and in preparation for the 70th session of the Commission (CSW70), the Commission is organizing an informal, interactive multi-stakeholder hearing with the participation of representatives of Member States and all observers of the UN General Assembly, national human rights institutions where they exist, non-governmental organizations in consultative status with ECOSOC, academic institutions, and the private sector. This will be the first event of its kind aimed at providing perspectives on the CSW70 priority theme, "Ensuring and strengthening access to justice for all women and girls, including by promoting inclusive and equitable legal systems, eliminating discriminatory laws, policies, and practices, and addressing structural barriers".
